Stuttgart is the city best known for where the automobile was born. For anyone interested in history and culture, there is so much to soak up here, especially with a visit to the famous Mercedes Benz and Porsche museums. The city is also home to the State Opera and a number of symphony orchestras, as well as many other museums and art galleries. As you amble around the city, you will be able to admire the stunning architecture it has to offer and with plenty of delicious and traditional restaurants, fine German cuisine is easy to come by.
Come winter time, Stuttgart transforms as the magical and sparkling Christmas markets appear. Set against the breath-taking backdrop of the famous Old Palace, scents of cinnamon and vanilla infuse the city as guests wander around the wooden chalets richly adorned with Christmas decorations whilst enjoying mulled wine and fresh gingerbread. As one of the largest and liveliest Christmas markets in Europe, there really is no better way to get yourself into the Christmas spirit!
