The Brief

Penguins were asked to organise a launch party to announce the opening of a UK digital marketing company. Founded in the US, this exciting new UK start-up were keen to  make a noise in the UK digital market with a fun opening event that would create instant impact among London’s leading marketing and media agencies.

The venue chosen was Adam Street Private Members’ Club set in amazing vaults beneath The Strand – right in the heart of agency land.

Solution

Penguins delivered a full service launch communications strategy which appealed to all the senses. A brand was created especially for the party which appeared on all pre-event marketing communications, registration badges and party stands. Clever coloured lighting projected the corporate logo onto the walls of the vaults. A vodka ice luge, bespoke cupcakes and carpets featuring the corporate logo created the perfect party brand. 

The client managed the initial invitation communication (on and offline) with a mix of funky corporate shaped invites, which were sent to a few thousand contacts. Guests pre-registered on a party site and everyone was then entered into a prize draw. On the night, guests were greeted by the Penguins team with a warm welcome, branded name badges and pre-drink photo. Guests enjoyed bespoke coloured cocktails and finger bowl food whilst being entertained with some amazing moves from a Contortionist on a plinth and a crystal Ball manipulator.

Chill out background music filled the air until 9.30pm when the party went into full swing with a unique mix of DJ, percussion from “Bongo Dave” and a saxophonist.  Throughout the night, photos of guests on the dance floor were projected onto huge video screens intermixed with brand messaging and music videos – much to the delight of the media crowd. 

After the party, a link allowed the client’s party goers to relive the evening all over again.
