" Thanks for everything! These last few days, as always, have been a wonderful experience ".
The Brief
Our client, a leading animal healthcare company, run an annual reward programme to incentivise its sales team. Historically, the trips have followed a structure: a hot location with opt-in and out activities. This year the client wanted to shake things up a little, choosing an unexpected destination with organised activities; with the aim of solidifying internal relationships.
Challenges
- In order to achieve the proposed programme, we needed to change the travel culture. Transfers were longer than usually experienced on the trip so we needed to ensure that guests were entertained throughout rather than viewing the journey as wasted time.
- To experience the best of Iceland, we split the trip across 2 hotels, with 2 nights in the south of the country and 2 nights in the North.
- Less leisure time meant more group time so we needed to ensure that this time was relaxed and informal within a great setting to suit all.
Solution
With its reputation of being the land of fire and ice, Iceland certainly offered the wow factor and delivered on so many levels. The guests witnessed all four seasons in one day with beautiful warm sunshine followed by thick snowfall on the mountains. During the trip, the group took to the glaciers for an action packed day of snowmobiling topped off with a glacier buffet lunch, built in to the snow! The dramatic landscape and sheer range of activities available, from horse riding to dry suit diving, kept the group engaged. The beautiful city of Reykjavik was the last stop where the group enjoyed a little retail therapy, top notch cuisine and some all-important R&R at the famous Blue Lagoon en route to the airport!
