Solution
From the variety of options we sourced, the client chose to build a boardwalk across a national trust nature reserve on the south coast. The project was chosen because it would have a lasting benefit, would give the team a major sense of achievement, involve all staff on one level, and encourage co-operation and communication.
50 shovels, 8 rakes, 80 work gloves, 8 loppers, 1500 metres of rope, 9000 plastic spacers and 4500 planks of treated wood were all thrown into the mix, and the effort by the 80 participants meant that the national trust were able to preserve the sand dunes, and the flora and fauna in the in the nature reserve for future generations – a previously unfunded project – well ahead of time expectations.
We provided the following services:
- Sourcing of a variety of CSR project options
- Provision of all tools and equipment (including ‘base camp’ marquee)
- Refreshments and lunches
- Full health a safety assessment (including first aid, suncream)
- Liaison with the national trust
- Full onsite event management
