Community Project (Financial Services)
The brief was to organise, source and manage a community project which would allow delegates to give something back to the community and create a feelgood factor.
Scale
40 employees
Solution
The task was to renovate a playground and the communal areas at a primary school in Hackney which would help create a more welcoming environment for the children. Murals were painted onto three sides of a shed in the junior playground. The designs for each of the murals were created by the children at the school from a competition that was held, and using these creative ideas increased the impact of the project.
The children were from a range of backgrounds and ethnicities and the school was keen to incorporate this within the project. The group created a mural which identified this, painting various countries' flags onto a wall in the playground that was to be used as a teaching aid for the children.
Other tasks included creating a friendship bench where children could go and make friends and filling planters with a range of flowers for each of the year groups to look after.

- Sourcing & purchasing appropriate resources for each of the tasks
- On-site management
Results
Fantastic feedback was recieved from all the parties involved. The guests got a tremendous feeling of pride, being able to make such a lasting difference in such a short period of time and everyone at the school was overwhelmed at the difference it made, brightening up the playground
