Clinical Trials Unit (Pharmaceutical)

We were asked to provide an event to address the feelings of change - The clinical trails team were moving from a department operating free of charge, and a 9am-5pm work day, to a 24hr profit center. The prevailing feeling of the majority medic team, was that this was an uncomfortable and unethical move. The group was bi and tri lingual and the entire meeting was to be conducted in French and English.

Solution

We created a three day event in Girona Spain, which through presentations and workshops delivered the rationale and logistics of the forthcoming change. The major task the teambuilding had to achieve was changing the feelings the delegates had about making money in a clinical environment. The activity solution was "Council of the Marble Star"; an experiential learning activity in which the teams have to create wealth ethically. The activity is a fun 90 minutes but the real value comes in the 90 minute debrief, where the key elements of the game are translated into clear links with the delegates business and then through facilitation the group is moved towards new behavioural pattern.

We provided the following services:

  • Venue management
  • Delegate flights and transfers
  • Simultaneous translation; German & French
  • Production; light, sound and set
  • Multi-media presentation
  • Photostory ~ 2 hr fun session
  • Council of the Marble Star
  • The Three Waiters

Result

"The team left feeling that it was possible to deliver, significant, ethical results and that it was perfectly ok to charge for their expertise and time"
