I recently returned from a familiarisation trip to Chicago… it’s a fantastic city and if you haven't paid a visit already, you definitely should!
We started our trip in the United Airlines first class lounge where you can relax with a coffee or enjoy a glass of bubbles before boarding your flight.
Located in the centre of the city you will find The Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers which has over a 1000 bedrooms and vast meeting space. On arrival we were treated to drinks and canapés in one of their suites overlooking the city.
On our first morning we were given a private tour of The Skydeck which is located on the 99th floor of The Willis Tower. At 1,353ft the views of the city and Lake Michigan are incredible. The space can be hired for a private breakfast or an evening dinner.
Next we moved on to the city’s Art Institute which offers a real mix of meeting space from their modern space which houses a collection of 20th – 21st Century art to a reconstruction of the city’s old stock exchange trading room. Located in the modern wing of the building you will find Terzo Piano which features signature cuisine of Chef Tong Mantuano - the food is sensational.
Chicago has lots of great restaurants and we certainly experienced some of them during our visit! We enjoyed everything from the local deep pan pizza to an array of meat carved at your table at the wonderful ZED 451.
No trip to Chicago is complete without experiencing a traditional Chicago Blues Bar and we were lucky enough to be taken to Buddy Guys Legends which boosts to have the best Live Blues in Chicago.
Whether it is for an incentive trip or meeting the city has everything to make your event a great one!
